Korean Beauty Standard: Korean Plastic Surgery

Nowadays, K-beauty has become another euphemism for the Republic of Korea. Aside from the fact that Korean cosmetic goods are well-known worldwide, Korean plastic surgery is a leader in the field. If you want to improve the appearance of your body or face, South Korea, which is known as the “plastic surgery capital of the world,” is the ideal place to go.

Korean plastic surgery is concerned with repairing, restoring, or replacing physical flaws of form or function affecting the skin, musculoskeletal system, cranial and craniofacial structures, hand, limbs and breast and trunk, and the external genital system. In addition to improving undesired characteristics of normal tissues, aesthetic surgical concepts are applied in all reconstructive surgeries.

Standards for Korean Beauty

A significant difference exists between the ideal caucasian nose bridge and the type of nose bridge Koreans like to request in a rhinoplasty. And in Asian cultures, the crease above the upper eyelid has always been highly sought after, both because it is uncommon and gives the appearance of wider eyes.

Korean People spend millions on triple eyelid surgery, double jaw surgery, and other facial and body modifications.

Where did it all start?

Plastic surgery became more widely accepted in South Korean culture. American military surgeons conducted Double-eyelid surgeries to correct the “oriental eyes” of native patients. The practice of reconstructive surgery as a means of self-improvement spread fast throughout the war-torn peninsula after the war ended. Cosmetic plastic surgery was recognised as a medical profession by the Supreme Court of South Korea in 1974, giving the rapidly expanding industry legal and social legitimacy.

In today’s South Korean urban lifestyle, Korean plastic surgery has become an accepted part of the norm. As a graduation present, it’s fairly uncommon for high school kids to have cosmetic surgery.

Generally speaking, Korean plastic surgery is split into two categories:

  • Reconstructive surgery

Reconstructive surgery is a procedure that involves the reconstruction or restoration of a body part to either recover from physical damage or to restore impaired function to the affected part of the body. It is performed to recover from physical damage or restore impaired function to the affected part of the body. Reconstructive operations encompass burn therapy, hand surgery, craniofacial surgery, and microsurgery, among others. The applicant’s ability to restore the entire functionality of the affected body part is usually successful. Still, the likelihood of success is dependent on how much damage the candidate has already sustained before surgery.

  • Cosmetic surgery

Cosmetic surgery, often known as aesthetic surgery, aims to improve the physical look of a specific body part via surgical procedures. Korean Plastic Surgery encompasses all treatments, including face lifting, breast augmentation, breast implant or removal, buttock increase, eyebrow correction and lifting surgery, and many more.

Why opt for Korean Plastic Surgery?

Those who conduct Korean plastic surgery are world-renowned and have decades of experience under their collective belts. Almost every cosmetic surgeon or consultant who works in South Korea’s plastic surgery facilities is well-known for the outstanding expertise and accuracy with which they conduct the operations.
